Freelance and creative writer, Stephanie Stambaugh, says her passion for writing is coded in her DNA. She’s convinced it was born from witnessing her activist mother write articles for a grassroots newspaper. Stephanie admired her mother and the small dedicated staff of that newspaper and how they spoke out for low income people in their community.

The most important thing she learned from them; even one voice can rise up out of the din and make a difference.

Stephanie’s own writing voice is wide-ranging. She doesn’t just write articles, or research art or ancient history, she is just as passionate about writing a how-to article as she is about her creative writing work which includes fiction, poetry, and screenplays.

Her philosophy is simple. She refuses to choose just one specific writing genre. Stephanie believes that if you are passionate about many things there is no reason to choose just one of them. She also believes that all of your passions make you who you are, so you must do them all and love what you do.

Trying to tell Stephanie she has to be just one kind of writer is like trying to imagine the insane idea of someone telling Pablo Picasso he had to pick only one of his paintings, sculptures or ceramic pieces as his favorite. Forget about it!
